Set amidst beautiful rolling countryside with views of the Pyrenees, Domaine du Renne is an oasis of peace and calm in the heart of the Languedoc.
We have 45 acres of natural woodland with cleared pathways for you to stroll along and enjoy the views and wildlife – red squirrels inhabit our oak trees and deer forage in the undergrowth!
Le Renne is only 10 minutes from the market town of Limoux where you will find a good selection of shops, bars, restaurants, a market on Fridays and several excellent wine caves. For fresh bread and a small shop selling basics Alaigne is only 5 minutes drive away.
The countryside of the Aude is one of the most diverse in France. A fifteen minute drive can take one into the gently rolling wheat fields of the Lauragais, vineyards of the Limouxin, or wild mountains and gorges of the Corbieres, always with the Pyrenees as a backdrop.
We are surrounded by castles and ancient fortified towns, the greatest of which is Carcassonne less than thirty minutes away. The mediaeval town of Mirepoix with its Monday market in the arcaded cathedral square is nearby.
Cycling, canoeing and walking are favourite pastimes and lakes offer the chance for leisurely swims and picnics. We provide a set of self-guided walks in each gite. Scenic Mediterranean fishing villages and fine beaches are an hour away.
Duty-free shopping in Andorra is just 2 hours from us and if you choose to visit in winter there is excellent ski-ing at Ax Les Thermes, 90 minutes to the south.

THE PROPERTIES
2 Gites sleeping 2, 4 or 6
A semi-detached building within the grounds of our home and having full use of our 12m x 6m salt treated swimming pool, complete with sunbeds and shade.
LE CHÊNE
The larger of the 2 gites, this has 1 double bedroom with fitted wardrobe and 1 twin bedroom with fitted wardrobe. There is a shower room with washbasin and shower, a separate WC and a large, spacious open plan sitting room/dining area/kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with full size cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and has an ample supply of crockery, glasses, cutlery etc. There is a comfortable sofa and a couple of armchairs if you wish to sit inside and of course for winter when you may wish to use the woodburning stove. Background heating is provided in the bedrooms and bathroom. A CD player, Satellite TV & video are provided for your use. For those lovely balmy evenings one expects in the summer months in the South of France there is a private terrace with a table and chairs for outdoor eating – the terrace leads from the sitting area.
LE CERISIER
The smaller of the 2, this gite has 1 double bedroom with a wardrobe just outside the door, shower room with washbasin, shower and WC. There is a large open plan sitting room/dining area/kitchen. As in Le Chêne the kitchen is fully equipped with full size cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and has an ample supply of crockery, glasses, cutlery etc. A comfortable sofa in the sitting room with a CD player, Satellite TV & video and woodburning stove complete the interior of this cosy property. Outside there is a private south facing terrace with table and chairs leading from the kitchen/dining area. Background heating is provided in the bedroom and shower room.
There is a separate laundry room with an automatic washing machine, iron and ironing board for all guests’ use.
The 2 gites have an interconnecting door making it an ideal property for a party of 6 who maybe still want their own space and privacy. |

LINEN HIRE: Includes: 1 x fitted sheet, 1 x duvet cover + pillowcases per bed; 1 x hand towel, 1 x bath towel per person; 3 x teatowels and 1 hand towel for the kitchen.
Please note: If you choose to bring your own linen the double bed in Le Chêne is Queen size (155cm wide) and the double bed in Le Cerisier is a normal double (135cm wide). All the beds have duvets.
